August 29, 2024

DALLAS, Texas — A Dallas man is in custody following a violent road rage incident that resulted in a 2-year-old girl being shot and seriously injured. The suspect, Jason Cain, 50, faces multiple charges, including three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of intentionally causing serious bodily injury to a child, according to Dallas County jail records.

The shooting occurred around 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2024, along Sweetwater Drive in east Dallas, near the Forest Hills neighborhood. According to a spokesperson for the Dallas Police Department, the preliminary investigation revealed that Cain fired into a vehicle at the location, striking the young girl. She was immediately taken to a local hospital, where she received treatment and was later released.

As the investigation unfolded, authorities searched Cain’s home and allegedly discovered Nazi imagery and a cache of weapons, further heightening concerns about the suspect’s motives and background.

Cain remains in custody as the investigation continues, and he is expected to face serious charges in connection with the incident. The case has drawn significant attention due to the involvement of a young child and the disturbing items found in the suspect’s home.
