Man arrested after bottle attack during early morning robbery attempt on K Street NW
Washington, DC — A violent encounter in the early morning hours on K Street NW has led to the arrest of a 26-year-old man who police say attacked another man with a glass bottle after a request for money was refused.
The assault occurred at approximately 3:47 a.m. on November 4th, in the 500 block of K Street, Northwest. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the suspect approached the victim and asked for money. When the victim declined, the suspect reportedly struck him with a glass bottle and fled the scene on a bicycle.
The victim was treated on the scene for minor injuries.
Yesterday, police arrested Diamonte Lucas, 26, of Northwest, DC. He has been charged with Assault with Significant Bodily Injury and Threats to Kidnap or Injure.
The case remains under investigation. Police have not said whether the suspect and victim knew one another.
