Washington, D.C. – An MS-13 gang member linked to the death of four people during a violent three-month period in 2019 was given a life sentence. Melvin Canales Saldana’s wrongdoings were attributed to a lack of rival engagements in northern Virginia, leading to the targeting of non-gang members.

A federal indictment tied Saldana and 11 others to racketeering, drug crimes, and deaths in northern Virginia.

The indictment encompassed four murders that occurred between June and September 2019 in Prince William County, detailing the tragic ends of Milton Lopez, Jairo Mayorga, Eric Tate II, and Antonio Smith.
