Armed carjacking reported on Southern Avenue SE as police search for two suspects

Washington, DC – An armed carjacking early Tuesday prompted a police response to the 2500 block of Southern Avenue SE after two suspects reportedly stole a vehicle while armed with handguns, according to a crime alert issued overnight.

The incident was reported at approximately 3:37 a.m. on Feb. 17. Police said two Black males wearing black clothing and armed with handguns were last seen heading toward the nearby Metro station along Southern Avenue.

No information about the victim, vehicle details, or any injuries has been released as the investigation continues.
