Deadly double shooting hits Christian Street and Wilkens Avenue

BALTIMORE, Md. — A double homicide is under investigation after two men were found shot and unresponsive in Southwest Baltimore Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 1:36 p.m. on June 22, Southwest District officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 2200 block of Christian Street. Upon arrival, officers found a 31-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. Moments later, a second victim, a 24-year-old male, was discovered in the 2100 block of Wilkens Avenue, also unresponsive and shot.

Both men were transported to nearby hospitals, where they were pronounced dead.

Police have not released the identities of the victims, and no suspect information has been made public.

The Baltimore Police Department’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation and is urging anyone with information to come forward.

The shootings occurred in the early afternoon near a residential area and are believed to be connected, though the motive remains unclear.
