Deadly hotel shooting inside Chesapeake hotel

CHESAPEAKE, VA – Detectives are investigating a homicide after a man who was shot inside a Chesapeake hotel later died at a Portsmouth hospital.

Police said officers were called around 11 p.m. on November 25 to a hotel in the 3200 block of Western Branch Boulevard for a report of a shooting that had occurred inside a room.

When they arrived, investigators learned the victim, an adult male, had been shot several hours earlier and was taken by bystanders to a hospital in Portsmouth.

The victim later died from his injuries, prompting a joint investigation between Chesapeake and Portsmouth police.

Investigation ongoing, no arrests announced

Authorities have not released the victim’s name or said what led to the shooting. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and reviewing evidence from the hotel.

Police said the case remains under active investigation and asked anyone with information to come forward.
