Deadly stabbing on Queens street corner; 22-year-old killed near Junction Boulevard

QUEENS, N.Y. — A 22-year-old man was fatally stabbed early Monday at a busy Queens intersection, police said.

Police said the stabbing occurred at approximately 12:47 a.m. near the intersection of Junction Boulevard and Roosevelt Avenue.

Responding officers found the victim with a stab wound to the abdomen.

Emergency medical services transported the man to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst. He was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after arrival.

The identity of the deceased is currently being withheld pending notification of next of kin, authorities said.

Scene response and neighborhood impact

The corner of Junction Boulevard and Roosevelt Avenue was cordoned off during the early morning hours as officers collected evidence and interviewed witnesses. No motive has been publicly identified.
