Driver with revoked license arrested for dui at burger king drive-through

STAFFORD, Va. — A man was arrested early Halloween morning for driving under the influence on Richmond Highway, marking his second DUI offense within five years, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on October 31, when Deputy R. Tully observed an SUV swerving and speeding at 65 mph in a 45 mph zone near the intersection of Richmond Highway and Jason Lane. Deputy Tully conducted a traffic stop and questioned the driver about his erratic driving and excessive speed. The driver, whose name has not been released, reportedly told the deputy there was “no reason” for his speed and admitted to having “a few Jack and Cokes” prior to driving.

A check of the driver’s record revealed that his license had been revoked following a prior DUI conviction last year. The driver was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence (second offense within five years), driving after license forfeiture, reckless driving, and a traffic lane violation.

The driver was booked into Rappahannock Regional Jail, where he is being held without bond.
