Drunk Driver Loses Control, Crashes Into Tree in Quantico

June 3, 2024

Quantico, VA — A 38-year-old man from Quantico survived a serious accident after driving drunk late Saturday night.

On Saturday at approximately 10:43 p.m., Deputy T.G. Croson responded to Joshua Road following reports of an auto accident. A white F-150 truck had veered off the roadway and collided with a tree with such force that the tree snapped in half and fell across the road.

Upon arrival, Deputy Croson observed the driver with glassy, bloodshot eyes and detected a strong odor of alcohol. The driver admitted to consuming approximately four beers before driving. He also believed he was traveling at the speed limit when the accident occurred.

The driver sustained minor injuries and did not require hospital transport. Instead, he was taken to Rappahannock Regional Jail, where he was charged with driving under the influence and refusal to submit to testing. He was held until sober.
