NEW YORK, NY – An 82-year-old woman was shoved to the ground Wednesday afternoon during an unprovoked street encounter on Manhattan’s East Side.

The assault occurred around 3:20 p.m. in front of 124 East 61st Street, police said.

The victim was walking along the block when an unidentified person approached and suddenly pushed her, causing her to fall.

It was reported to police that on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at approximately 1520 hours, in front of 124 East 61 Street, an 82-year-old female victim was walking when she was approached by an unidentified individual who shoved her, causing her to fall to the ground. The victim sustained pain about the body but refused medical attention at the scene. The individual fled the location on foot, traveling westbound on 61 Street to Park Avenue.

The attacker ran off westbound on East 61st Street toward Park Avenue and remains at large.
