Elderly Driver Injured in Manchester Township Crash

A single-vehicle crash in Manchester Township, New Jersey, on Friday, March 15, 2024, left a 72-year-old man injured and prompted an ongoing investigation by local authorities. At around 6:23 pm, officers from the Manchester Township Police Department rushed to the scene at Pinewald Keswick Road and Crestwood Parkway after receiving reports of the incident.

Upon arrival, law enforcement found a grey 2010 Cadillac Escalade with significant front-end damage, situated off the roadway of Pinewald Keswick Road. The vehicle had collided with a traffic sign, a utility pole support wire, a signboard, and ultimately a tree along the northbound shoulder of the road.

The driver, identified as Pasquale Foggio of Manchester, NJ, was behind the wheel of the Cadillac at the time of the crash. He sustained injuries and was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Hospital for medical treatment and evaluation. Fortunately, Foggio’s condition is reported as stable.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with initial assessments pointing to a potential medical event as the primary cause of the crash. Ptl. Brendan Brush of the Manchester Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit is leading the investigation.

Assistance at the scene was provided by Emergency Medical Technicians from the Manchester Township Division of Emergency Services, the Whiting Volunteer Fire Department, the Joint Base Fire Department, paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Life-Flight Medevac Helicopter, and Priced Rite Towing.
