Elderly man arrested for indecent exposure in Sewickley

SEWICKLEY, Pa. — An 82-year-old man has been arrested following an incident on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, where he was accused of exposing himself near the intersection of Beaver and Chestnut Streets, according to the Allegheny County Police Department.

A witness reported seeing an elderly male, later identified as David Whitten of Franklin Park, Pa., touching and exposing himself in public. Whitten fled the area before Sewickley Police officers arrived, and was last seen walking towards Broad Street.

On Friday, September 13, Whitten was identified, and the Sewickley Police Department requested assistance from the Allegheny County Police General Investigations Unit. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Whitten, charging him with corruption of minors, two counts of indecent exposure, and open lewdness.

Whitten was arrested later that evening by Allegheny County Police and Sewickley Police. He is currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment.
