Brooklyn, NY – A 65-year-old man was assaulted Tuesday afternoon outside a residential building in Brownsville after a brief argument with an unidentified attacker turned violent.

The confrontation began just after noon near Prospect Place and Thomas S. Boyland Street as the victim was leaving the building.

Police said the suspect displayed an unknown object and struck the man in the hand before running away on foot.

The victim suffered pain and swelling but declined medical treatment at the scene.

Suspect at large
Investigators said the attacker fled westbound on Prospect Place and remains on the loose. He is described as a male last seen wearing a blue vest, beige T-shirt, blue shorts, and black and white sandals.

Public assistance sought
The NYPD released an image of the suspect and is asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers. Detectives from the 73rd Precinct are reviewing area surveillance footage as the investigation continues.
