Elderly Man Shot and Killed by Gunshot Wound to the Head in the Bronx

New York City Police Department dispatched to crime scene.

BRONX, NY – A late-night shooting took the life of an 80-year-old man at the intersection of W 168 Street and Ogden Avenue, in the Bronx. NYPD officers rushed to the sound of gunfire to find the man dead before they arrived.

On Sunday, while on patrol, police officers heard gunshots near the specified location. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered Marcelino Valerio with a fatal gunshot wound to his head.

Emergency medical services arrived but pronounced Valerio deceased at the scene.

At this time, no suspects have been identified. No arrests have been made.
