Harlem, NY – A 70-year-old woman was assaulted aboard an M7 bus in Harlem Wednesday afternoon after a verbal dispute with another passenger turned violent, police said.
The attack happened around 5:18 p.m. near Lenox Avenue and West 119th Street.

The suspect fled the scene on foot after the assault.

Verbal dispute escalated on crowded bus
Investigators said the confrontation began when the unidentified woman engaged the victim in a verbal dispute before repeatedly punching her in the face. The incident occurred while the bus was traveling southbound along Lenox Avenue.
Victim treated by EMS at scene
Emergency medical personnel responded to the location and treated the victim for minor injuries. She declined transport to a hospital, according to police.
Suspect remains at large
The assailant was described as a female with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a black tank top. She fled on foot heading northbound on Lenox Avenue toward West 118th Street.
