Electric car runs out of juice, causing delays on Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge

CALVERT COUNTY, MD – An incident on Sunday involving an electric car that ran out of power on the Governor Thomas Johnson Bridge caused delays until the vehicle was pushed off the bridge.

Traffic was backed up in both directions along the narrow two-lane bridge that is one of the few crossings along the Patuxent River.

The Calvert County Sherrif’s Office reported the electric car had run out of electricity while crossing the bridge.
