ELYRIA, OH – The Elyria Police Department (EPD) is actively investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred on the 200 block of 8th Street at 11:04 p.m. on Friday.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two women inside a car who had been struck by gunfire.
Both victims were taken to University Hospitals of Elyria. The 27-year-old woman was later pronounced dead by the Lorain County Coroner’s Office.
Her identity remains undisclosed, pending family notification.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old woman was transferred to University Hospitals of Cleveland for further medical care and has since been interviewed by detectives.
