Fatal Shooting and Crash Under Investigation in South Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH – A deadly shooting that unfolded on the 200 block of Buffalo Court in south Columbus is currently under investigation by the Columbus Police Department (CPD).

The incident occurred at 4:57 p.m. on Sunday, resulting in one fatality and another individual being critically injured.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered two adults suffering from gunshot wounds. The first victim, found inside a sedan that had crashed into a nearby treeline, was pronounced dead at 5:06 p.m. Meanwhile, a second male victim was located with a gunshot wound at a nearby apartment complex and was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition, later stabilizing at 6:15 p.m.

According to the CPD, an interaction involving the first victim, seated inside the sedan, and the second male victim preceded the shooting. A third adult approached during their brief conversation, after which shots were fired. No suspect is currently in custody, and the police are in the process of notifying the deceased victim’s next-of-kin.
