Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash in Dover Claims Life of Teenager

DOVER, DE – Delaware State Police have identified Ryan Wagner, a 17-year-old from Felton, Delaware, as the victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash in Dover that occurred on Monday, June 19.

Police reports indicate that around 3:56 a.m., a 2015 GMC Acadia was traveling northbound on Bayside Drive at a high speed when it failed to maintain control during a slight right curve, south of Leipsic Road. The vehicle crossed the solid double yellow centerlines, traveled approximately 150 feet off the road, and struck a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to spin counterclockwise, overturn onto its side, and catch fire.

The driver, now identified as Wagner, was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers in the car, and no other vehicles were involved in the collision. Bayside Drive was closed for roughly four hours for investigation and clearance of the scene.
