Fentanyl stash and guns found in Latrobe home bust

Two charged after fentanyl and firearms seized in Latrobe drug bust

Latrobe, PA — A search warrant tied to a prior narcotics case led investigators to a Derry Township home where suspected fentanyl, cocaine, firearms, and cash were seized, resulting in the arrest of two suspects with existing criminal charges.

The warrant was executed on Murtha Way on January 23 after investigators from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office and the Westmoreland County Drug Task Force targeted a residence connected to alleged drug distribution. Authorities said Francisco Sanchez and Breah Gonzalez were already facing charges related to a previous narcotics delivery at the time of the search.

Inside the home, Gonzalez was found with a small child, while Sanchez was discovered hiding in a second-floor bedroom closet. Investigators seized two handguns and three shotguns, along with 1,382 stamp bags of suspected fentanyl, 68.7 grams of cocaine, and 11.4 grams of crack cocaine. Police also recovered digital scales and more than $5,000 in cash, including pre-recorded buy money from an earlier undercover drug purchase.

Sanchez had an active arrest warrant out of Allegheny County for aggravated assault and now faces additional charges including receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm prohibited. He was remanded to the Westmoreland County Prison on $100,000 bail. Gonzalez was also taken into custody and charged with drug-related offenses.
