Four suspects sought after violent stabbing in Harlem attempted robbery

NEW YORK, NY – Police are searching for four young men who allegedly beat and stabbed a man during a violent robbery attempt in Harlem late last month.

The attack happened around 7:30 p.m. on October 20 near Riverside Drive and West 139th Street, when a group of unidentified individuals tried to snatch a 44-year-old man’s cell phone.

When the victim resisted, the suspects began punching him and one pulled a weapon, stabbing him four times before all four fled in an unknown direction.

Victim hospitalized after multiple stab wounds

Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition. Investigators from the 30th Precinct canvassed the area for evidence and reviewed surveillance footage in hopes of identifying the attackers.

Police release suspect descriptions

Detectives say all four suspects are men between 16 and 21 years old with medium builds. One has an unknown tattoo on his left hand. They were each wearing variations of black puffer coats, dark pants, and slippers or shoes.

Individual #1 was described as having a dark complexion and was last seen wearing a black puffer coat, light-colored pants, and black shoes.
Individual #2 had a medium complexion, short black hair, and wore a black jacket, dark pants, black socks, and black slippers.
Individual #3 had a dark complexion, short black hair, and was wearing a black puffer coat with dark-colored pants.
Individual #4 had a dark complexion, short black hair, and was seen wearing a black puffer coat, blue jeans, black socks, and black slippers.
