Frederick police say a stabbing Thursday night appears to have been self-inflicted, with the victim hospitalized in critical condition.

FREDERICK, MD — A person was hospitalized Thursday night after a reported stabbing on Greystone Drive that Frederick Police now believe was self-inflicted, according to an official update.

Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Greystone Drive at approximately 9:21 p.m. on April 17. Upon arrival, they located one individual with stab wounds who was transported to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

The victim was last reported in critical but stable condition, authorities said.

Frederick Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation, which led detectives to determine the injuries were likely self-inflicted.

Police limit release of personal information

Out of respect for the individual’s privacy, no identifying details have been released, and no further information is expected to be provided at this time.
