Georgia woman arrested after multistate manhunt for Delaware parking lot shooting

A heated argument ended with gunfire and a multistate arrest before nightfall.

DOVER, DE – A 37-year-old Georgia woman is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly firing a handgun during an argument in a Dover parking lot Thursday morning, police said.

According to the Dover Police Department, the incident began around 11:45 a.m. in the 600 block of Bay Road, where officers responded to reports of shots fired. Investigators determined that Latasha Bryant became involved in a dispute over property with several individuals before drawing a firearm and firing at them. No one was injured, and Bryant fled the scene in a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer.

Police quickly issued a regional alert, and by 4:45 p.m., Virginia State Police located and stopped the vehicle on Interstate 95 near Richmond, taking Bryant into custody without incident.

Bryant is being held in Virginia awaiting extradition to Delaware on charges including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and two counts of first-degree reckless endangering.
