Gunman and accomplice rob man on Bronx subway platform in broad daylight

Bronx, NY – A 58-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint Saturday morning while sitting on a bench at the White Plains Road and Pelham Parkway subway station, police said. The victim was on the northbound platform around 11:45 a.m. when two men approached him. One pulled out a firearm as the other reached into his pocket, stealing his wallet and phone.

The robber tossed the phone back before both suspects fled on foot to an unknown location. No injuries were reported.

The first suspect is described as a male last seen wearing a light blue sweater, black pants and dark sneakers. The second suspect was seen wearing a black baseball cap, black sweatshirt, gray shorts and black-and-white sneakers.

Police have not made any arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.

The thieves vanished into the subway system, leaving straphangers rattled.
