Man arrested in 2025 West Mulberry Street shooting in Baltimore
BALTIMORE, MD — A Baltimore man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left a 21-year-old injured in the city’s Central District more than five months ago, police announced this week.
Kenyon Cypress, 22, was taken into custody on January 28 by Warrant Apprehension detectives. He is charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder in the August 21 shooting of a male victim in the 400 block of West Mulberry Street.
According to police, the original incident was first reported in the early morning hours of August 21, when Central District officers responded to an area hospital around 1:31 a.m. for a walk-in gunshot victim. The man, who survived, had suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Detectives later determined that the shooting occurred in the 400 block of West Mulberry, where they located the crime scene. Details surrounding the motive or events leading up to the shooting have not been disclosed.
Cypress was booked into the Central Booking Intake Facility following his arrest and remains in custody as the case proceeds through the court system.
