Jackson, NJ – The Jackson Township community is mourning the loss of Jerry J. Dasti, a respected attorney and longtime legal counsel whose decades of public service left an enduring mark on Ocean County.

Town officials confirmed the news Monday, offering condolences on behalf of Mayor Jennifer L. Kuhn and the Township Council.

Dasti’s firm has served as municipal counsel for Jackson Township for many years, guiding local governance and development with steady legal expertise.

Born in Summit, Dasti spent much of his life in Ocean County, where he built a distinguished career representing municipalities across Ocean, Monmouth, Atlantic, Mercer, and Burlington Counties. He was admitted to practice before the New Jersey Supreme Court and recognized as a Diplomat in Municipal Law.

His legal work spanned municipal law, real estate, land use, civil litigation, and corporate matters. Beyond the courtroom, Dasti was a familiar presence in community affairs, contributing his time to numerous nonprofit and educational organizations.

Council President Mordy Burnstein called the loss “deeply personal,” adding that Dasti’s “wisdom, service, and friendship will be deeply missed.”
