Jackson School District closes Monday as winter storm halts travel

Jackson, NJ – The Jackson School District announced Sunday afternoon that all schools will be closed Monday due to the ongoing winter storm impacting Ocean County and much of New Jersey.

The closure notice was issued at 2:35 p.m. Sunday as snow continued to accumulate across the region, creating hazardous road conditions. District officials said schools will remain closed Monday, February 23, with no in-person instruction.

When the Jackson School District is closed for weather-related conditions, there will be no district-provided transportation to any district school, Ocean County Vocational Technical School academies or programs, or any out-of-district or special education placements.

Activities and transportation canceled

All practices, games, events, and activities scheduled for Monday have also been canceled. The district said the cancellations apply to both in-district programs and outside organizations that use school facilities.

Officials cited the ongoing winter storm as the reason for the closure, noting that snow accumulation and road conditions remain a concern for student and staff safety.
