Jackson, NJ – Local tree service companies, community volunteers, and the Department of Public Works (D.P.W.) recently joined forces to clean up Rova Farms, ahead of the planned construction of a new park. This collaborative effort focused on clearing underbrush, dead trees, and unsafe limbs, setting the stage for the development of park amenities.
The project, initiated on Monday, aims to reduce future costs for taxpayers and improve the site’s appearance before construction begins. Jackson Township officials have acknowledged the significant contribution of local businesses, including Aspen Tree Experts, Phil’s Tree Service, and K & L Tree Experts, to the cleanup effort.
Council President Jennifer Kuhn expressed thanks to the companies and individuals involved, emphasizing the community’s role in the project’s success. She mentioned the cleanup as the first step in the broader goal of converting Rova Farms into a public park, with Councilman Chisholm credited for organizing the event.
“When the community here in Jackson comes together for a cause, nothing is impossible,” said Council President Jennifer Kuhn. “That’s just the first step in transforming the land into a park. I’m glad we have the opportunity to restore Rova Farms to its former natural beauty. Thank you to Councilman Chisholm for spearheading this cleanup and for ensuring that everything was organized and ready for today” she said.
Councilman Mordechai Burnstein highlighted the historical appeal of Rova Farms as a factor in the cleanup effort, thanking the community and businesses for their involvement. Mayor Michael Reina commented on the importance of Rova Farms to the cultural heritage of Jackson Township, envisioning the future park as a destination for both residents and visitors to enjoy.
“This cleanup restored the charm that lured thousands to Rova Farms during the mid-twentieth century,” Mordechai Burnstein said. “Thank you to our wonderful businesses in Jackson for rolling up their sleeves and helping out.”
Mayor Michael Reina said, “Rova Farms is a key part of Jackson Township’s cultural history. People from around the world used to spend their summers here because of its natural beauty and scenic views. When we’re done, it will be a park for everyone in Jackson and beyond to enjoy.”
