BUFFALO, NY – A Jamestown woman is facing federal drug charges after investigators seized methamphetamine and a firearm during a search of her residence, prosecutors said.

U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced the arrest of 23-year-old Micayla L. Blair, who is charged by criminal complaint with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million.

Investigators executed a search warrant on October 30 at a William Street address linked to Blair, where they found suspected crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a pistol.

Authorities said Blair was taken into custody and made her first appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael J. Roemer, who ordered her detained.

Federal and local agencies coordinate investigation

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Joshua A. Violanti and stems from a joint investigation by the Jamestown Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials have not released further details on the amount of drugs seized or the type of firearm recovered.

All charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
