Jan. 20: Ocean County Expected to Approve Senior Services Contracts

TOMS RIVER – The Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders is expected to approve 35 competitive contracts for senior services throughout the county at its Jan. 20 public meeting.

The contracts cover services such as meals, transportation, caregiver services, care management, counseling and legal services. The county’s Office of Senior Services will oversee 44 contracts with 20 governmental and non-profit agencies totaling more than $5.4 million in 2016.

More than 160,000 seniors live in the county. “Our senior programs are second-to-none and always receive high marks by the state of New Jersey,” said Freeholder Director John C. Bartlett Jr. “People want to retire in Ocean County because of the amenities that are provided.”
