JERSEY CITY, NJ – A Jersey City man has died from injuries sustained in a pedestrian crash earlier this week, according to Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello.
The incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. Sunday, December 14, near the intersection of Mallory Avenue and Communipaw Avenue. Police responding to reports of a pedestrian struck found Luis Caisaguano, 61, suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Caisaguano was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition until he was pronounced dead on Wednesday, December 17.
The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit, with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department, continues to investigate the crash. Authorities have not released further details about the driver or any potential charges.
