Cranford man hits $1 million jackpot in Cash 4 Life lottery drawing

Cranford, NJ — A Union County resident is waking up a millionaire after purchasing a winning Cash 4 Life lottery ticket that matched five numbers, missing only the elusive Cash Ball, to claim a $1 million cash prize in Thursday night’s drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at Krauser’s convenience store at 1198 Raritan Road in Cranford, with the lucky numbers being 40, 43, 49, 54, and 60. The Cash Ball number, which was not matched, was 04. The player opted for the lump sum second-tier prize of $1 million. Krauser’s will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

This marks the fifth time in 2025 that the game has produced a second-tier million-dollar winner, and the second time in recent months that a Union County player has claimed the prize. In May, another Union County ticket hit all five numbers and the Cash Ball, securing the game’s top prize with a $7 million cash value. August also saw $1 million winners in both Union and Bergen counties, with Bergen repeating again in September.

Cash 4 Life, a multistate lottery available in nine states, offers two life-changing jackpots for a $2 ticket. The top prize pays $1,000 a day for life, while the second-tier prize offers $1,000 a week for life—both of which can be claimed in a single lump sum of $7 million or $1 million, respectively. Daily drawings are held at approximately 9 p.m.

The game includes seven additional prize tiers, ranging from $2 to $2,500. Players can also opt into the “Doubler” feature for an extra $1, which doubles all prize amounts except for the two top-tier prizes.
