NEW YORK, NY – An altercation over a sign depicting a kidnapped Israeli at the hands of Hamas terrorists in Israel turned violent this week in New York City.

A physical assault and theft occurred at the corner of Riverside Drive and West 82nd Street in Manhattan on Thursday, November 9, involving two unidentified females and a 41-year-old woman.

The incident, now under investigation by the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force, took place at approximately 9:55 PM.

The victim, who was recording the suspects on her cell phone, confronted the two women as they removed Israeli missing person posters from a light pole. The altercation escalated when the suspects physically assaulted the victim, forcibly taking her Star of David necklace and damaging her phone. The assailants fled on foot to an unknown location.

The victim, sustaining minor facial and neck injuries, declined further medical attention at the scene. The suspects, described as two 5’6″ tall females, weighing around 135 pounds with medium complexions, thin builds, and black hair, were last seen wearing dark clothing. One suspect had a nose piercing. The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is actively seeking information regarding the incident.
