Bronx man fatally stabbed in late-night attack outside Third Avenue building

Bronx, NY — A 31-year-old man was fatally stabbed late Monday night during a violent confrontation outside a residential building in the Bronx, police said.

The victim, identified as Katrell Dixon of the Bronx, was discovered with a stab wound to the chest in front of 3322 3rd Avenue around 10:34 p.m., following a 911 call reporting an assault in progress.

Responding officers from the 42nd Precinct found Dixon critically injured on the sidewalk. He was rushed by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was later pronounced dead.

The circumstances leading up to the attack remain unclear. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.

No weapon has been recovered, and authorities have not released any information about possible suspects or a motive.
