Baltimore man charged with murder in fatal 5th Street shooting
BALTIMORE, MD – A 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with a deadly shooting that took place late last month in South Baltimore, police announced Friday.
Detectives identified Devin Ash as the suspect in the September 30 killing of 35-year-old Marlon Pugh in the 3700 block of 5th Street.
Ash was taken into custody without incident on October 1 at his home, according to the Baltimore Police Department.

Victim found with multiple gunshot wounds
Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 3:27 p.m. that afternoon and found Pugh suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Investigators have not disclosed a possible motive or the circumstances leading up to the shooting but confirmed that Ash was quickly identified as the suspect through follow-up investigation by homicide detectives.
Case now in prosecutors’ hands
Following his arrest, Ash was booked into the Central Booking Intake Facility and charged with first-degree murder. The case has been forwarded to the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
