BRONX, NY – A woman is being sought by police after robbing a taxi driver at knifepoint late Sunday night in the Norwood section of the Bronx.
The incident occurred around 11:55 p.m. in front of 111 East 210th Street, where the unidentified woman hailed a cab before turning on the driver.
Once inside the vehicle, she pulled out a knife and demanded the 44-year-old driver’s wallet.
The victim complied, and the woman took approximately $500 in cash along with a debit card before fleeing the scene without paying for the ride.
She was last seen running southbound on Bainbridge Avenue.
Suspect fled after robbery
No injuries were reported, and police say the victim immediately contacted authorities after the suspect fled.
Detectives are now working to identify the woman, who was described as wearing a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and white sneakers.
Investigation ongoing in Norwood
Officers from the NYPD’s 52nd Precinct are canvassing the area for surveillance footage that may have captured the suspect’s movements before or after the robbery.
