BRICK, NJ – Mayor Lisa Crate has narrowly won re-election in a close race to continue leading Brick Township.
Crate, who first became mayor following a 2023 special election, thanked voters across all political lines for once again placing their trust in her.
She said the result reflected Brick’s independent spirit, where residents focus on community issues rather than party affiliation.

Crate emphasizes unity after tight vote
In a statement following the election, Crate expressed appreciation to supporters and volunteers who helped her campaign. “The voters of Brick have once again chosen me to serve as mayor of the town I love,” she said. “The support I received from Democrats, Republicans, and Independents shows that in Brick, we are independent thinkers who look beyond party labels to do what’s best for our community.”
Brick voters split but steady
While the margin was narrow, Crate’s win underscored her continued appeal to a cross-section of residents. She congratulated the newly elected council members and said she looks forward to working with all sides to “continue making Brick better.”
The Republicans swept the council seats, putting the township in a unqiue position of being split politically between the mayor and council.
