Troy Powerball player wins $50K prize with ticket sold at Stewart’s Shops
Troy, NY – A Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold in Troy for the December 17 drawing, with the lucky player matching four of five white balls plus the red Powerball to land a third-tier prize.
The winning ticket was purchased at Stewart’s Shops, located at 100 Northern Boulevard. It was one of four third-prize-winning tickets sold across New York for that draw.
Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Players choose five numbers from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball number from a separate pool of 1 to 26. Matching four white balls and the Powerball earns a $50,000 payout.
The New York Lottery announced all four winners across the state on Thursday. Other winning tickets were sold in Fresh Meadows, Manhattan, and Newburgh.
The Lottery continues to be the most profitable in North America, contributing $3.6 billion in the 2024–2025 fiscal year to support public education across New York State.
