Lucky streak hits New York with two top prize lottery winners

Two lucky winners strike gold with $9K TAKE 5 tickets in Jamaica and Manhattan

NEW YORK, NY — Two New Yorkers scored big in Wednesday’s midday TAKE 5 drawing, each landing a top-prize ticket worth $9,213.50—one in Jamaica, Queens, and the other in Manhattan.

The New York Lottery confirmed that one winning ticket was sold at Gayatri Stationery & Legal For, located at 87-87 Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica, while another was sold at River Bend Candy Store at 2289 5th Avenue in Manhattan. Both tickets matched the winning numbers drawn at 2:30 p.m. during the TAKE 5 midday drawing on Wednesday.

TAKE 5 draws five numbers from a field of 1 through 39 and is held twice daily—once in the afternoon and again in the evening. Winners have up to one year from the drawing date to claim their prize.

The New York Lottery remains the largest and most profitable lottery in North America, generating $3.6 billion in revenue during the 2024–2025 fiscal year for New York’s public education system.

Lottery officials reminded players and retailers that all draw game prizes must be claimed within 12 months of the drawing. Winners can claim their prize through any authorized lottery retailer or by contacting the Lottery Customer Service Center.
