Man accused of biting victim during hotel assault in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – A 25-year-old city man was arrested after police say he attacked another man during a confrontation inside a Kidder Street hotel.

The incident happened Friday morning around 10:10 a.m., according to Wilkes-Barre City Police.

Officers said the altercation began when the suspect accused the victim of being involved with the mother of his child.

The victim, a 51-year-old Wilkes-Barre man, reported that Higgins bit his thigh before fleeing the scene. Police later found Higgins nearby and took him into custody without further incident.

Authorities said Higgins was transported to Wilkes-Barre City Police headquarters for processing. The department did not immediately release details on potential charges or whether the victim required medical treatment following the assault. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
