Man accused of opening fire after gun threat inside DC home

Washington, DC – A Southeast DC man has been arrested in connection with a June shooting that involved brandishing a weapon inside a residence and firing shots outside before fleeing the scene.

On Thursday, August 14, the Metropolitan Police Department arrested 29-year-old Martez Robinson pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant. He is charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) in connection with the June 6 incident.

The shooting occurred shortly after 12:45 a.m. in the 3400 block of 15th Street SE. According to investigators, Robinson allegedly approached a victim inside a residence, pointed a handgun, and then exited the home. Once outside, he fired at a group of unidentified individuals before fleeing the area.

No injuries were reported in the incident, and police did not disclose a possible motive. Robinson was taken into custody without incident.

The investigation remains open under case number CCN: 25085411.
