Kansas City, KS – A 22-year-old man is accused of killing his girlfriend at a party she attended despite his objections. Kevin Calamaco-Morales allegedly shot 20-year-old Ana Juarez early Wednesday morning.
Witnesses reported that Calamaco-Morales called Juarez 18 times in two minutes before the shooting. He allegedly sent a message calling her a derogatory name shortly before arriving at the home where the party was held.
Friends said Juarez had been at a Halloween gathering when Calamaco-Morales began trying to contact her. They noted that she had previously expressed concern over his controlling behavior regarding her social outings.
Calamaco-Morales allegedly approached the home where Juarez was partying and shot her when she opened the door. Following the incident, multiple witnesses identified him as the shooter.
He was arrested later at his home and booked into jail on a $500,000 bond. He is scheduled for court on December 16.
