Man Arrested For Pointing Gun At People In D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – An arrest has been made by the D.C. Metro Police Department concerning an armed assault that took place on the 4700 block of 1st Street in Southwest D.C.

The incident, involving a firearm, occurred this Saturday at 9:55 AM when Seventh District officers were called to the scene after reports of a man brandishing a handgun at victims.

Officers swiftly apprehended the suspect upon arrival and seized the handgun.

Donnelle Eugene Cheeks, a 30-year-old resident of Southeast, D.C., faces charges including Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Carrying a Pistol without a License.
