Man charged for killing a woman in front of her children

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – St. Petersburg Police charged Tyron Jackasal, 20, with shooting and killing K’Mia Simmons while she was in a car with her children on March 30th, in the 1800 block of 22nd street south.

Jackasal fired shots at a Volvo traveling north on 22nd St. S at 18th Avenue South. K’Mia Simmons, age 21, was a passenger in the Volvo with her two young children and another adult, a man, was driving. A bullet struck Simmons and she died of her injuries at the hospital. The children were not injured.
