MANHATTAN, N.Y. — A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the fatal stabbing of another man inside an East Harlem residence on Thursday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call about an assault in progress at 219 East 121st Street at approximately 2:01 p.m. on November 21. Upon arrival, they found 41-year-old David Providence with multiple stab wounds to his torso.

Providence was transported by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem in critical condition, but he later succumbed to his injuries, authorities said.

Following an investigation, police arrested Julian Parks, 42, who also lived at the same address, early Friday morning. Parks has been charged with second-degree murder and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
