Man clings to life after Christmas Day shooting in Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, MD – A man is in critical condition following a shooting in Silver Spring on Christmas Day, prompting an investigation by the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD).

Officers responded to the 800 block of University Boulevard East at approximately 6:35 p.m. Wednesday after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition. No arrests have been made, and police have not released any information about potential suspects.

MCPD is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
