Man Found Shot And Killed In Northeast D.C., Suspect Arrested

Washington, D.C. – The D.C. Metro Police Department’s Homicide Branch has successfully apprehended a man connected to a fatal shooting incident in Northeast, D.C. The arrest came after an investigation into the overnight tragedy that resulted in one man’s death.

The incident occurred early Sunday morning, around 3:00 a.m., when officers from the Fifth District were dispatched to a residence on the 1600 block of Rosedale Street, Northeast, following reports of gunfire. On arrival, they discovered an adult male victim with gunshot wounds. The man, later identified as 35-year-old Darius Robinson of Northwest, DC, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect, initially evading capture post-shooting, was soon located by officers. Thanks to the diligent efforts of the detectives, 25-year-old Charles Demarco Best from Clinton, MD, has been arrested and faces charges of Second Degree Murder. The investigation has indicated that Robinson and Best were acquainted before the incident.
