Man arrested in fatal Light Street shooting after parking lot dispute in South Baltimore
Baltimore, MD — A 31-year-old Baltimore man has been arrested and charged with murder following a fatal shooting that stemmed from a verbal dispute in a South Baltimore parking lot late last month.
Davahughn Johnson was taken into custody on December 31 by Warrant Apprehension Detectives in the 500 block of Saint Paul Street. He was transported without incident to the Central Booking Intake Facility and charged with First-Degree Murder in the death of 32-year-old Charles Brothers.
The deadly shooting occurred around 1:54 a.m. on December 28 in the 1000 block of Light Street. Officers initially responded to the adjacent 100 block of East Cross Street for a report of an unresponsive person in a parking lot. Upon arrival, police found Brothers suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, the shooting followed a verbal altercation between the two men. Detectives from the Homicide Unit identified Johnson as the suspect and secured an arrest warrant shortly after the incident.
