NEW YORK, NY — A man is being sought by police following a reported sexual assault and attempted robbery aboard a Manhattan subway train early Saturday morning, according to the New York City Police Department.
At approximately 4:15 a.m., an unidentified man allegedly made sexual remarks and demanded money from a 27-year-old male passenger while both were aboard a northbound 1 train, police said. As the train neared the Christopher Street station in the West Village, the suspect reportedly forced the victim to perform a lewd act.
The suspect fled on foot after the train arrived at the Christopher Street station. His whereabouts remain unknown.
The victim was transported by emergency medical services to Northwell Greenwich Village Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Police described the individual as a male with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a dark blue shirt, dark blue sweatpants, and white and blue sneakers.
No arrests have been made as of Monday morning.
The NYPD is asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact law enforcement authorities. The investigation remains ongoing.
