Man hospitalized after early morning shooting on Georgia Avenue in Petworth

WASHINGTON, DC — A pre-dawn shooting left a man injured Tuesday morning in Northwest D.C.’s Petworth neighborhood, where officers found him with gunshot wounds on Georgia Avenue.

Police said they were called around 4:40 a.m. to the 3800 block of Georgia Avenue NW for reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they located a man who had been shot. He was conscious and breathing when medics transported him to a nearby hospital.

No arrests have been made, and investigators have not released details on the man’s current condition.
